What are Parabens?
Parabens are the most widely used preservatives in cosmetic products. Chemically, parabens are esters of p-hydroxybenzoic acid. The most common parabens used in cosmetic products are methylparaben, propylparaben, and butylparaben.
Phthalates are a group of chemicals used in hundreds of products, such as toys, vinyl flooring and wall covering, detergents, lubricating oils, food packaging, pharmaceuticals, blood bags and tubing, and personal care products, such as nail polish, hair sprays, soaps, and shampoos.
What does this all mean to you?
While the FDA does not find harm in cosmetic companies who use Parabens and Phthalates, we have decided for the sake of argument and health, we will NOT use bases with Phthalates or Parabens in our Products.
There are alternative products that can be used without Phthalates and Parabens.
The preservatives used in our products are Paraben Free.
Our fragrances and jars are Phthalate Free.
